Myosa® Sleep Correction
The Myosa® range of intra-oral appliances are designed to provide practitioners with an effective means of treating their patient's Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB), TMJ disorders and teeth grinding. Rather than just focus on alleviating the symptoms of SDB the Myosa® appliance range aims to treat poor myofunctional habits (oral habits) as well as the upper airway and neuromuscular dysfunction, which can cause SDB.
Treatment with oral appliances is now considered to be the most convenient way to alleviate Sleep Disordered Breathing.
The Myosa® appliance range functions by posturing the lower jaw slightly forward, correcting tongue position and opening the bite, which then opens the airway and regulates breathing. Additionally, the Myosa® system is focused on encouraging people to play an active role in their own treatment.
Myosa® activities, which are completed daily and designed to help patients overcome the poor myofunctional habits as well as the upper airway and neuromuscular dysfunction causing their SDB, play an integral role in this.
This activities program, which also focuses on diet and nutrition, has been designed to enhance the effectiveness of the Myosa® appliance and provide superior treatment outcomes directed towards correcting the causes as well as symptoms of Sleep Disordered Breathing.
The myOSA® range incorporates sleep appliances suitable for a wide spectrum of patients, including appliances to suit patients from as young as two-years-old through to adults as well as speciality appliances targeted at jaw joint (TMJ) disorders and teeth grinding, which are associated with SDB. myOSA® appliances are generally worn for one hour per day plus overnight while sleeping, under professional supervision.
